La Neige au Printemps !
Wednesday is the day that new movies are released in France. Today we have 2 blockbusters X Men and Marie Antoinette released here, due to Cannes film festival's effect and tomorrow's holiday which will be 4 straight holidays for some people.April Snow is still shown in about thirty theatres (31 exactly, even if it's just shown 1 per day in some theatre). But A Bittersweet Life released 2 weeks ago in 45 theatres now drops to a number of 16 and The Duelist released last week in 84 theatres is just shown in 16 theatres too. So what do you guest, my Bae sisters ?
I still don't understand how a movie like The Duelist which receives very bad critics in France, especially from some French magazines which frankly slandered it, has received some awards in Korea while April Snow got nothing.
Is there so much difference between French and Korean about cinema culture and taste, beside the fact that April Snow is authorised for all public in France while it was restricted 18y in Korea ?

why AS was slammed in korea will remain one of the biggest mysteries in the world, i think :p
Frances, I think you're right. Kim ki duk's movie "Locataires" (Tenants ?) is one of the Korean movie which got the biggest box office success and praises among Korean movies in France, a lot more than Old Boy or Taeguggi.
bb, maybe Korean media slandered the movie because YJ is the main character, they would like to slander him with the movie. Thanks god the movie made a hit in Japan, did well in China, Taiwan and receives praise in France.
Yes, this world is full of mysteries...
I went to see the Cartier-Bresson film with pallet yesterday and it was brilliant.
I think wuri YJ would have been pals with Monsieur BC if they had met.
