Some comparison for fun !
I think Liezle’s question about Korean movies in France is very interesting so I went to the French movie portal Allocine and made some comparison between April Snow, A bittersweet life and The Duelist, the 3 Korean movies released here in 2006. I don’t talk about Marathon because this movie was quite unperceived here.As you know, April Snow was released on April 12th, A Bittersweet life on May 10th and The Duelist on May 17th. Till now, I still find new reviews of April Snow, it seems that this movie is the kind of movie that French people like.
Liezle wrote that A bittersweet life and The Duelist have won some awards in Korea, in the contrary of April Snow which I know got a majority of bashful reviews from Korean media.
It lets me think that there is a very big difference between French and Korean about cinema.
So to prove what I said, this is the ranking of the movies by French media on Allocine today, May 18th :

It’s incredible for me that after 5 weeks and with lots of movies released after April 12th, April Snow is still at 13th position, not as for A bittersweet life just released last week but already 15th position and The Duelist yesterday at 31rst position.

thanks again camille. i hope that the korean media will think twice before sabotaging a beautifully made film. it doesn't reflect good on them. look at how their films were made recently. most of them even in their cournty are not doing well.
