My trip to Korea (suite)

Tuesday April 10th

It was a cloudy day but it couldn’t affect my mood, I was still in a kind of cloud after my encounter with YJ last night.

First important thing to do, going to the bank to change my euros. Fortunately there are a lot of banks in Myeong Dong, but they don’t have the same rate, so you better check it before the exchange.

We’ve planned to visit Dongdaemun market by subway this morning and in the afternoon we had appointment with youngsun to go to Lotte duty free then to visit In-su’s house.

The nearest subway from my hotel is Euljiro 1(il)-ga, line 2. And nice surprise, YJ again in this station !

Ah, if there is a big poster like that in Paris subway !

And another very nice surprise, the cleanliness in Seoul subway ! We couldn’t believe our eyes ! My friend even asked me to take her picture in the subway to show to her colleagues and friends in France. It’s really nice to walk in a clean subway like that.
We arrived at Dongdaemun a little bit early as there are just a few stations from Euljiro 1(il)-ga and found out that big stores like Migliore or Doota only open at 10:30am. But they are closed at 5am. 5am! Unbelievable ! You will never see it in France !
In France, big stores like Galerie Lafayette, Au Printemps opens generally from Monday to Saturday from 9:30am or 10am to 7:30pm with late night opening every Thursday till 10pm but sometimes trade unions even call for strike because of the late hour. But 5am ? I’m a little curious lah, there still are people who go shopping at 3am, 4am ?

While waiting, we walked around to take a look and we saw several shops which sell ties. Numerous, countless colourful ties, all kind of ties ! It’s a kind of spectacle you know, we’re speechless staying in front of these shops where ties were hanging everywhere from top to bottom of the walls. I’m really sorry to forget to take pictures to share with you.

Due to the short timing , we just took a quick look at Migliore and Doota, and I found that there are some difference between fashion in France and Korea. We had lunch there, at the last floor of Doota tower.

Then we went back to Myeong Dong. Do you remember the underpass I have to take on my first day in Korea ? It’s called Sogong underground, a kind of shopping center with a lot of interesting shops. We’ve found a jewellery which sells beautiful amethysts, the price is cheaper than amethyst factory, and most of all, the lady owner is very nice, but you have to bargain hard. And you better go there when you already bought everything else you needed before, because she never lets you go out without spending your last won. I myself have experienced it he he. So if you plan to go to Korea and you’re interested on jewels, just dropped me an e-mail and I will give you the adress of her shop, oh needless to say I don’t take any percentage from her.
From this underground, there is also a direct entry to food court in Lotte department store and I bought some grapes for youngsun (I remembered bb once said she likes it on her fanmories).

We met youngsun in front of Lotte department stores and I introduced my friend to her. She leaded us to Lotte duty free shop to look for YJ’s scarf because another Bae sis has asked youngsun to buy it for her. But too bad, it’s out of stock.
I saw some great YJ’s photos there, and I wonder what will happen to this shop and YJ’s street as YJ will end his contract with Lotte Korea.

Then youngsun took us in her car to go to In-Su’s house which is in the south of Seoul. The lady owner doesn’t take any fee, she just nicely opens her house to us, YJ’s fans to visit, but you can offer something to say thanks to her kindness and her generosity.
This is the entry of the condo

Youngsun explained to me that in Korea, the number 1004 is pronounced "cheonsa" ("cheon" for 1000, "sa" for 4). And the pronunciation of the Korean word "angel" is also "cheonsa", the same with the number 1004. I wonder if director Hur has chosen this condo because of our angel In-su / YJ ?

I have seen April Snow so many times that, standing in this house, seeing with my eyes this kitchen, this living gave me an indescripbable feeling. I was simply happy and moved, and this visit comforted me for not to be able to go to Samcheok.

The small garden is lovely

And this is where he threw away his wife’s cell-phone, you can see the guest book on the desk.

The lady owner is a graceful and beautiful young lady, we can see all her collection about April Snow in this piece. For me, she is a very lucky lady, I wondered how we would feel if we live in a house where YJ has shot his movie !

Then we went to the shop where In-Su did his shopping. This is the owner, he kindly offered to us a CF YJ’s postcard.

In the way back to the hotel, we didn’t want to say goodbye to youngsun yet and we’re very happy that she accepted our invitation for dinner. She took us to Ginseng Chicken restaurant in Myeong Dong, this restaurant only serves chicken (ginseng chicken and fried chicken). It’s the first time we ate ginseng chicken, it’s very good but you have to put a lot of salt in the soup. It’s not often that we can eat this kind of healthy food in France.

It was a wonderful dinner, we had great time chatting together, I remember we had some very good laughs. We didn’t talk only about YJ but also about everything, especially about Korea.

Ah, one thing I forgot to tell about Korean restaurant, they don’t have any dessert in their menu, in contrary with what we have in France. It's really surprising for us. When I told youngsun about that, she nicely invited us to Tea Loft. So we hurried to go to Tea Loft, which is fortunately not very far from our restaurant.

This is YJ’s fave and sorry we already ate it before I took a picture, I need more training from bb, I always forget to take picture of our meal.

But I’m sorry to say that this cake's a little bit too sweet for me.

There were some Japanese customers at Tea Loft, we guessed all are YJ’s fans. And there we continued to talk and talk, and laugh and laugh. We were the last customers to leave Tea Loft that night, we enjoyed so much our gathering that we didn’t want to end it.

Thanks to youngsun, now I know how it’s fun to have a gathering&dinner between Bae sisters. It’s the very first time for me, like my first encounter with YJ yesterday, for my first trip to Korea.
I’m very lucky, amn’t I ?
