My trip to Korea
I started to write in French my trip report and then I think it’s better if I write it in english because almost all my Bae sisters are english speaking, so it’s easier for them to read without using babelfish. But my English is a little limited so please my sisters, I hope you don’t mind if sometimes I made some faults in my writings.Saturday April 7th
We arrived at Incheon airport by Air France’s flight at 7am, Seoul time and midnight, Paris time. I was so excited that I couldn’t sleep at all during the 10h30 that I spent in the plane.
Now my dream is coming true, I am in Korea, the country of wuri YJ.
Incheon is big, nice and very clean ! After changing some euros to wons, I hurried to SK telecom office to rent the cell-phone, with the printed coupon as bb has advised me. CN also nicely told me where their office is.
The most marvellous thing when we’re fan of YJ is the mutual aid to each others from the Bae sisters, whatever nationality and the country where you come. We never met and yet they helped me with all their heart. Their generosity and their kindness are amazing, thank you my dear Bae sisters.
So I went to the SK telecom office located on the 1rst floor arrival, between exit 9 and 10 to rent a cell-phone with the printed coupon which gave me a discount of 1000 wons per day. What I did not know (but I had an excuse because it’s written in Japanese), it’s that this promotion’s related for the moment to the singer/actor Rain. The lady working at SK telecom office gracefully offered 3 posters of Rain to me.
Rain's posters ! But I didn't want them. What would I do with Rain’s posters ? (my apologies to any Rain’s fans here, I don’t have anything against him, it’s just that I’m not his fan)
So I told this lady I didn’t want them and asked her if I can exchange with some YJ’s posters instead. Ha ha, I still remember her look when I said that, so funny ! I think it’s not usual for her that someone refused a nice poster of Rain with his autograph. And after seeing her look, I changed my mind and accepted her gifts, in case she refused the discount to me he he.
And next step, taking the KAL bus to Seoul. As it’s Saturday early morning, the traffic’s rather fluid and after 1 hour, we arrived in front of Lotte hotel of Myeong Dong, which is about 200m from our hotel. We decided to walk to our hotel (a very wrong decision but we didn’t know at this moment), maybe it’s because I was totally captivated by this picture.

Why I said it’s a wrong decision to walk to our hotel ? It’s because we don’t know that, in contrary with Paris, there are very few crossing pedestrians in Seoul. To cross the street, you often have to take a kind of underground tunnel or to make a long detour. In Paris, we just cross any street we want. You can see one of this underpass in front of our hotel, face to Lotte Department stores.

And look at those steps ! downstairs and then upstairs !

I thought I could never make it with my luggage and my left arm which is still hurting. Fortunately, Korean people are incredibly nice. A woman seeing me in difficulty with my bag came spontaneously to help me. Phew ! I swear, next time I will take a taxi, even if the distance is ridiculously short.
Staffs at the hotel we booked are very friendly, and they speak English ! Although it’s just 10am, they have pity of us (I think we didn't look in good condition after carrying luggage downstairs and then upstairs and spending 10hours without sleeping in the plane) and let us check-in. We didn’t have a very great view from our room but we could see the last floor of Lotte department store (a kind of glass tube) which is ... I guess is Tea Loft....

After having some rest, we started to visit Myeong dong which was very crowded as it’s Saturday. And omo, there are a lot of YJ’s pics and YJ’s stuffs there. For me who come from a country where I can’t find any thing related to YJ, what a feast for my eyes !
We had lunch in a Korean restaurant, both choosing bibimbap. Sorry I was too hungry that I forgot to take a picture, just would like to say that if you like spicy food, Korean food is for you. I myself love love spicy food, so I enjoyed eating all the meals there.
And we finished our first day in Seoul by visting Lotte department store and the famous Yong Joon’s street near Lotte hotel.

And these are my two fav

This first night, my last thought before going to sleep is that finally I was under the same sky with wuri Yong Joon and my heart was fulled with happiness knowing he was somewhere in Seoul, not very far from me.
