Hi Camille,

Thanks for the good news. Do you think most audience are "repeat" customers? You think they like AS so much they want to watch it over and over again like the Japanese. There may be a lot of French ladies who like BYJ but have no idea where to start looking. I have a feeling if you organize some BYJ info session, there probably will be a high turn out.
France may very well be another Japan for BYJ, both countries have great taste!

I watched "Lake House", it's the same story as a Korean movie made in 2001 "Il Mare" starring Jeon Ji-Hyun and Lee Jung Jae. I used to like Keanu Reeves cause he's from Toronto and he's half Chinese. He also seems like a reluctant celebrity and leads a simple, away-from-limelight kind of life. Have you watched the movie, camille?

Nice to see that you have posted the AS reviews back in Quilt!

Hi Jaime,
I'm very happy for AS and I hope YJ has got new fans from France too.
Btw, I didn't watch The Lake House yet, I'm still too busy. I like Keanu Reeves very much but I didn't know he's from Toronto and half Chinese, thanks for the info.

i've lake house too.

but first, let me say il mare is one of my all-time faves. i love the quiet relationship betw the two characters, i love how whimsically beautiful it is, and i love everything about it, the house, the dog, the guy, the music... hell, even the letter box. most of all, i love the story.

some people have said hollywood has put in alot more 'meat' into lake house, so it's now more than just a simple love story that spans across diff time zones. yea, it's 'meatier' now, but it's lost that delicate touch, i feel.

if like me, you too like il mare, then i suggest you watch lake house, but please... forget that it's a remake, just take it as another movie. you might enjoy it better.

il mare is still one of my faves, after all this time. haha, i still play the ost from time to timem, even now.

bb, as I like Keanu Reeves a lot, when I know that he plays in a remake of a Korean movie Il Mare, I bought the DVD to watch and I have to say I like it a lot, I like the atmosphere of the movie.
I hope to have time to go watching this movie, thanks for your advice.

I'm a few week behind in joining this thread but felt I might wade in to add that Keanu Reeves not only had Toronto connections (as Jaime wrote) but once worked for/part owned (not sure which) a pasta restaurant franchise in Toronto.

Il Mare is also one of our favourite movies. One of the reasons is that my hubby is Jeon Ji-Hyun-struck. I agree with all the comments here about it being a very special movie and about treating the Lake House as a different story. They both have their own special merits.

Lastly, any excuse to listen longer to this wonderful song is most welcome.
